How can I recommend someone for the Citizens Academy?

Candidates have a better chance of being selected for the Citizens Academy if they are recommended by an FBI employee or a member of the CAAA. The Citizens Academy application is posted on the FBI website each year, from September 1st to December 31st. Go to https://www.fbi.gov/contact-us/field-offices/norfolk/community-outreach for the application.  Once the candidate has submitted the application, send an email to Vanessa Torres (vbtorres@fbi.gov) and write a recommendation for that person.

How can I recommend someone for the Future Agents in Training Teen Academy?

The FAIT Teen Academy (FAIT) application is posted on the FBI website each year, starting in February, ending in April. Go to https://www.fbi.gov/contact-us/field-offices/norfolk/community-outreach for the application. Once the candidate has submitted the application, send an email to Vanessa Torres (vbtorres@fbi.gov) and write a recommendation for that person.  We encourage you to volunteer to interview candidates as well.  If you are interested, send an email to vicepresident@fbinorcaaa.org expressing your interest.

How can I support the FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association?

Who is on the FBI Norfolk CAAA Board?

Go to the Board page to find the current Board Members.

How can I pay my annual dues?

Sign in to the website  and follow the “Pay my Dues” link.  This allows you to pay online by credit card and gives you instructions on how to pay by check or cash.

How can I volunteer to be on a committee?

There are several committees that you can join.  These include but are not limited to committees for each event, communications, membership, and fundraising.  Contact the Vice-President (vicepresident@fbinorcaaa.org) if you wish to join a committee.

How can I serve on the FBI Norfolk CAAA Board?

Board member terms are two years. Board members must be current and active FBI Norfolk CAAA members.  They must be able to attend all Board Meetings (excused absences are permitted.) They must be willing to lead a committee and be active in the events we sponsor. Contact the President to find out when and how to apply for a position on the Board.
